Hangang Festival_Summer (Seoul City Government)

As Seoul faces an early and intense summer heatwave, the city is bringing back its most anticipated summer event: the 2025 Hangang Festival_Summer, running from July 26 to August 24 for an expanded 30-day season.

The festival promises an affordable and exhilarating riverside escape with the theme “A Refreshing, Passionate Summer Vacation.”

This year’s lineup spans 18 vibrant programs across 10 Hangang parks, from infinity pool experiences at Nanji to interactive performances, movies under the stars, and even daring challenges on water.

One highlight is Hangang Cinema Pongdang, a floating movie theater where audiences can relax on tubes and enjoy screenings like Sunny and Welcome to Dongmakgol.

Thrill-seekers can compete in the Log Rolling competition or paddle on custom-built rafts in the quirky “My Own Hangang Boat Race”, held on Liberation Day.

Music lovers can soak in jazz and indie ballads during Hangang Music Pongdang, or catch candlelit performances at Hangang Summer Music Picnic near Seonyudo. Families with young kids can enjoy the Water Picnic and SUPMARAN rides, combining summer splash zones with eco-friendly activities.

Not to be missed is “Hangang No-Sleep 2 Days,” a unique overnight marathon screening of I’m Sorry, I Love You, paired with comic book lounges, face painting, and outdoor games. Night owls can also enjoy free open-air film festivals beneath Hangang’s bridges every Saturday night in August.

Additional offerings include yacht cruises, kayaking at Sebitseom, sunset yoga, and Hangangview dining at discounted rates. All programs are accessible without advance reservation, and basic swimming facilities operate daily until August 31, some until 10 p.m.
