(Daegu City)

In anticipation of the 21st Daegu International Opera Festival this October, the Daegu Opera House will host 10 “Fringe Concerts” across downtown Daegu every weekend from Sunday, August 18, to Wednesday, October 23.

The series kicks off with its first performance at 4 p.m. this Sunday at Dongseong-ro 28 Arts Square.

These mini-concerts will feature opera highlights, including arias and duets, along with various events to engage the public.

Performances will take place at popular locations such as Dongseong-ro 28 Art Square, Hyundai Department Store’s outdoor stage, Suseongmot, Daegu Art Museum, and Daegu Sayuwon, bringing opera to the streets and promoting the upcoming festival.

Local vocal ensembles like Artlas, Fedora Soloist Ensemble, and The Heaven Ensemble will participate.

The Daegu Opera House, in collaboration with the Daegu Metropolitan City Chapter of the Korea Music Association, aims to use these concerts to boost local cultural and artistic growth.

Detailed schedules and information are available on the Daegu Opera House website.
