Deokdong Village Hwanghwa Cosmos Festival (Tongyeong City)

The Deokdong Village Hwanghwa Cosmos Festival will take place in Deokdong Village, Saryang-myeon, in Tongyeong on Saturday, October 19, from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., offering a vibrant day of autumn festivities.

Organized by the Saryang-myeon Office, the event celebrates the blooming fields of golden cosmos and zinnias that cover 10,000 pyeong of land.

The flower fields, which were carefully cultivated despite this year’s intense summer heat, will be open for 12 days, from October 11 to 20, welcoming tourists for a perfect autumn outing. This transformation of fallow land into beautiful flower fields is part of the Saryangdo Landscape Creation Project, which began in 2022 under the Tongyeong-si Rural Vitality Plus initiative.

The project has successfully revitalized unused fields in Neungyang Village and Deokdong Village, attracting more visitors each year.

The festival on October 19 will feature a variety of engaging activities, including the sale of Saryangdo specialties, Polaroid photo sessions, the interactive game “Challenge! Saryangdo Golden Bell”, and a lively Saryangdo Band Concert.
