Traditional superstitions are still rooted in many Koreans’ thoughts and behavior. When setting a date for a big day like a wedding, moving, or business opening, Koreans tend to avoid that day called “The day without Sohn (손 없는 날).” “Sohn” can be translated as an “evil spirit” and some Koreans believe that the bad spirit roams around all directions depending upon the lunar cycle, hampering various affairs and ruining their big days.
