Gimhae City has recommended several must-visit tourist attractions perfect for Chuseok and the autumn season.
A top destination is Gimhae Bunsunseong, renowned for its stunning “Queen’s Sunset.” Visitors can enjoy panoramic views of Gimhae City, the Gimhae Plain, and the Nakdong River, with a scenic walking path along the fortress wall. It’s especially beautiful at sunset during fall.
Another highlight is the Gimhae Suro Royal Tomb, the burial site of King Suro, founder of the Garak Kingdom and the Gimhae Kim Clan. Surrounded by vibrant autumn foliage, the tomb park is ideal for a peaceful walk. It’s also part of a broader Gaya history tour, including the Daeseongdong Ancient Tombs and the National Gimhae Museum.
For family fun, Gimhae Gaya Theme Park offers history, culture, and thrilling attractions like the “Mega Extreme” and the “Painters Gaya Kingdom” show. Special fall events, including extended evening hours and drone light shows, are planned to celebrate the 2024 Visit Gimhae Year.
Additionally, the National Gimhae Museum will host Chuseok cultural activities on the 14th, and the Gimhae Astronomical Observatory will hold a full moon viewing event from September 16-18. Various festivals and events, including the National (Disabled) Sports Festival and the World Heritage Gaya Cultural Festival, will continue throughout the season.
