The city of Busan, in collaboration with the Busan Cultural Foundation, will hold a special summer pop-up event, the Busan Sea Library: Haeundae Book Camp, from 2 pm to 8 pm on August 16 at the free beach area near Songnim Park in Haeundae.
Designed as a unique way to enjoy books by the seaside, the event will transform the shaded beach area with ocean views into a relaxing reading space for visitors.
The program will feature a public bookshelf stocked with around 1,600 books, a comfortable reading zone with large parasols, sunbeds, and shaded areas, as well as a waterproof book section. Pet-friendly kits will be available on a first-come, first-served basis.
Citizen participation activities include an SNS photo event offering drink coupons and A Line of Warmth, where participants can write down their favorite sentences from books they read. Wheelchair-accessible pathways, dedicated seating for wheelchair users and families, and tables for visitors with disabilities will also be provided.
The event is free to attend, though some programs require advance registration. More details can be found on the Busan Sea Library website at www.bscf.or.kr/bb or Instagram (@bibliotheca_busan).
