Seoul Grand Park is inviting residents to escape the summer heat with a wide range of forest leisure programs running through November.
Set in lush, well-preserved greenery, the offerings include 11 types of forest healing and guided nature programs at locations such as the Healing Forest, Forest Healing Center, Theme Garden, and Botanical Garden.
The forest healing programs feature nine varieties led by certified instructors, offering activities like barefoot forest walks, waterfall ion therapy, hammock meditation, herbal foot baths, and singing bowl sessions.
Some take place in the Healing Forest, a 50-hectare protected area reopened in 2015 after 30 years of restricted access.
Others are held at the Forest Healing Center, with both indoor and outdoor spaces designed for relaxation and wellness.
Special events include the “Weekend in the Garden” program in September, where participants can observe plants, create personal herb gardens, and enjoy hands-on gardening experiences over three consecutive weeks.
Two guided forest interpretation programs are also available at the Theme Garden and Botanical Garden, exploring seasonal flowers, plant ecology, and the beauty of nature.
Reservations are required via the Seoul Public Service Reservation system, with fees applying to most forest healing programs, while forest interpretation programs are free. Discounts or free participation are available for social welfare groups and seniors over 65.
For those seeking quiet reflection, the park’s 7 km Forest Bath Trail offers a scenic two-and-a-half-hour trek with panoramic views, themed forest sections, and shaded rest stops—making it a popular summer hiking destination.
