Incheon Pentaport Rock Festival

Incheon Pentaport Rock Festival, Korea’s largest rock festival, has been uniting the world through music for 18 years. Bands from all over the world take over the stage to put on passionate and energetic live performances. This year’s line-up is fantastic, featuring U.S. rock band The Strokes, Japanese punk-rock band Ellegarden, U.K. rock band Ride, as well as Korean artists Kim Yoon Ah, Chang Kiha, The Black Skirts, Se So Neon, and more. Behind the Standing Zone, a Picnic Zone is available for guests to put up tents or spread out picnic mats and enjoy the music. Boryeong Mud Festival

At Boryeong Mud Festival, mud is the name of the game! This festival is very popular among international visitors, with around 390 thousand foreign attendees in 2019. The general area features fun play activities like a large mud slide, while the family zone is suitable to visitors of all ages, with activities like covering your whole body in mud and making shapes with mud. Enjoy experiences you can only try here, such as a mud self-massage, colored-mud body painting, followed by a night of watching busking performances and a fireworks show on the beach
Jeongnamjin Jangheung Water Festival
Period: July 29 – August 6, 2023 Venue: Areas of Tamjingang River & Cypress Forest Woodland in Jangheung 741-6, Geonsan-ri, Jangheung-gun, Jeollanam-do (전라남도 장흥군 장흥읍 건산리 741-6) Website
Korea’s largest water festival, you’ll have a blast shooting water guns and enjoying water sports. The festival uses the pure water of the Tamjingang River as it cuts its way through Jangheung. The main event is the Salsu Battle Street Parade, a large water gun fight that takes place on the road. When the sun goes down, enjoy the clubbing atmosphere created by famous DJs performing at the Water Music Pool Party.
Daegu Chimac Festival
Period: August 30 – September 3, 2023 Venue: Area of Duryu Park Baseball Field in Daegu 7, Gongwonsunhwan-ro, Dalseo-gu, Daegu (대구광역시 달서구 공원순환로7) Website (English, Japanese, Chinese)
Daegu Chimac Festival combines two of Koreans’ favorites – chicken and beer! The festival takes place in Daegu, where many of Korea’s fried chicken franchises got their start, including Mexicana Chicken and Kyochon Chicken. The festival is the best way to enjoy all these different brands. If you get too hot on the grassy field, head to the ice pub to soak your feet in cool water while you eat. You’ll surely spend a long time here, filling up on chicken, beer, and enjoying the many famous artists performing on stage.
