Jinju City held a completion ceremony for the new Namgang cruise ship, Kim Si-min 2, at the Mangjin Ferry Terminal in Manggyeong-dong’s Mulbit Naru Shelter.

Following the success of the original Kim Si-min cruise ship, which began operating in 2022 and received a strong response from citizens and tourists alike, Kim Si-min 2 was built to meet growing demand.

This second vessel offers unique sightseeing experiences with the scenic Jinjuseong Fortress and Namgang River as its backdrop. The new electric cruise ship aligns with the government’s eco-friendly policies and was developed with a total project cost of 1.8 billion won.

Like its predecessor, Kim Si-min 2 is designed with a flat-bottomed hull that reflects traditional aesthetics and complements the surrounding waterfront views.

However, it has been upgraded with built-in walls for operation during rainy weather, a cypress wood interior for a pleasant fragrance, and heating and cooling systems for added passenger comfort.

The ships will operate 16 trips on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays starting at 1 p.m., and 20 trips on Fridays, weekends, and public holidays starting at 10 a.m. ay.
