The Seoul Metropolitan Government is set to open main registration for the highly anticipated ‘2nd Take It Easy Han River Triathlon Festival’ on February 26, as it seeks to welcome 20,000 participants. The festival will unfold over three days, from May 30 to June 1, at Ttukseom Hangang Park, offering citizens a unique opportunity to engage in a global sports event in the heart of Seoul.
Participants can register through the Naver Reservation portal, choosing between two time slots: 9-11 AM or 1-5 PM. The participation fee is set at 30,000 won. Notably, those registering with a foreign friend will receive exclusive benefits, including a ‘Take It Easy’ picnic mat, a sports bottle, and a Han River water sports experience ticket. This initiative aims to foster international camaraderie and broaden the festival’s appeal.
The triathlon, designed to cater to varying fitness levels, allows participants to complete swimming, cycling, and running events at their own pace. Courses are tailored for both beginners and advanced athletes, with options including a 15K beginner course and a 31K advanced course. The cycling segment offers a choice between 10km and 20km routes, while the running event includes 5km and 10km courses.
Koo Jong-won, Director General of the Seoul Metropolitan Government’s Tourism and Sports Bureau, emphasized the city’s ambition to position the festival as a hallmark global sports and health event. “With the inclusion of activities involving foreign friends, we hope to attract significant participation from both local citizens and international guests,” Koo stated.
As the festival enters its second year, it promises to deliver a diverse array of programs, underscoring Seoul’s commitment to promoting a healthy and active lifestyle while enhancing its reputation as a vibrant, international city.
