The Tongyeong Cable Car will offer night operations on August 9th and 10th, coinciding with the Tongyeong Hansan Battle Festival.
The Tongyeong Tourism Development Corporation announced that ticket sales at the lower station will extend to 8 p.m. on the 9th and 9 p.m. on the 10th.
This night-time operation provides a panoramic view of Gangguan, Tongyeong’s central port, and the entire city from the cable car’s upper station.
On August 10th, the highlight of the Hansan Battle Festival, the ‘Tonight, Tongyeong Fireworks Show!’, will light up the night sky, offering great views over the port.
Previously, the only way to experience Tongyeong’s night views was through a night hike on Mireuksan Mountain.
In 2022, Tongyeong was designated as Korea’s first night-time tourism specialized city. It features Dipirang, the largest night digital park in Korea, and illuminated attractions at Samdosugun Tongjeyeong and Seopirang to draw tourists.
The 63rd Tongyeong Hansan Battle Festival, running from August 9th to 14th, includes various night-time programs to highlight Tongyeong’s nocturnal beauty.
