Busan is set to launch its new “West Busan Ecology and Culture Theme Route” on September 20, aiming to enhance tourism in the western part of the city.

The new route will highlight the unique blend of natural beauty, cultural landmarks, and historical sites that Western Busan has to offer. To mark the occasion, a special pre-opening event will take place from September 11 to 19, offering free rides in celebration of the Chuseok holiday.

The theme route is designed to boost accessibility to Western Busan’s top tourist attractions, combining nature and culture in a single journey. Key stops along the route include the popular Gamcheon Culture Village, the National Assembly Busan Library, the Nakdong River Estuary Eco Center, and the Nakdong River Ecological Exploration Boat, among others.

At the Nakdong River Estuary Eco Center, visitors can explore exhibits on local ecosystems and observe migratory birds in their natural habitat. A ride on the Nakdong River Ecological Exploration Boat offers the unique opportunity to cross the river and visit Eulsukdo, a globally recognized bird sanctuary. Other stops include the art-filled streets of Gamcheon Culture Village, the first branch of the National Assembly Library in Korea, and the Busan Museum of Modern Art, which showcases contemporary works in harmony with nature.

The full-day tour will operate from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and will run from Wednesday through Sunday, with reservations required. Each day, a single guided tour will depart from Busan Station, providing a structured experience that eliminates the need for individual travel planning. This format is particularly attractive for tourists who prefer a comprehensive tour of the area’s major highlights.

The West Busan Ecology and Culture Theme Route officially opens on September 20, with tours costing 25,000 KRW for adults and 20,000 KRW for children. A minimum of eight participants is required for each tour. The itinerary includes stops at Songdo Beach, Gamcheon Culture Village, the National Assembly Busan Library, Myeongji Happiness Village, the Nakdong River Estuary Eco Center, and the Busan Museum of Modern Art.
