The 2024 South Coast Cup International Yacht Race will be held from August 29 to September 1, in collaboration with Gyeongnam province and Jeollanam-do.

This event is Korea’s longest cruiser yacht race, spanning across three cities: Busan, Tongyeong, and Yeosu.

The race aims to foster the development of a marine leisure tourism belt along the southern coast, promoting mutual growth among these regions while expanding the base for marine leisure activities.

This year’s event, the fifth of its kind, will feature 350 athletes from 70 teams, competing against the stunning natural backdrop of the southern coast.

Event Schedule

August 30: The race kicks off in Yeosu with a coastal competition at Ungcheon Circular Marina.

August 31 – September 1: The race continues, with yachts sailing from Yeosu to Tongyeong and then on to Busan. Each city will host side events for citizens, including a special experience program in Busan.

September 1: The event concludes with an awards ceremony and closing event at Busan’s Suyeong Bay Yacht Stadium.

The race is divided into two main legs:

Leg 1: Yeosu Ungcheon Circular Marina to Tongyeong Donam Port (August 31).

Leg 2: Tongyeong Donam Port to Busan Suyeong Bay Yacht Stadium (September 1).
