Hwangsan Park (Yangsan City)
Yangsan City announced that improvements to Hwangsan Park are progressing smoothly under the framework of the “Tomorrow’s City Mulgeum, One-Stop Life” vision revealed earlier this year.
As part of this plan, efforts are being made to significantly enhance accessibility to the park, particularly during high-traffic seasons when major events like the Cherry Blossom Festival and Chrysanthemum Festival draw large crowds.
To address long-standing traffic congestion issues at the park’s entrances and exits during these peak times, the city unveiled plans in January to build an overpass and develop the Mulgeum Cherry Blossom Road Green Railway.
A supplementary budget of 200 million won has been secured to conduct a feasibility study, with the aim of completing the full project by 2029. Once completed, the improved traffic flow and accessibility are expected to raise the park’s profile as a prominent national tourist destination.
In addition to infrastructure development, the city is also enriching the park’s seasonal appeal.
This spring, nine varieties of tulips have been planted throughout the central plaza, creating a colorful and inviting atmosphere.
These blooms will be on full display from mid-April to May, coinciding with the vibrant yuchae flowers already drawing visitors.
