Flowering Namhae (Namhae-gun)
Namhae-gun will host the ‘Flowering Namhae’ festival on March 28–29, themed ‘My Hometown’, as part of the ‘2025 Year of Hometown Love Visits’ campaign.
The event will take place at Chungnyeolsa Square and Namhae Pavilion, offering scenic views and diverse attractions to establish itself as a signature spring festival in Namhae.
Exciting Programs and Performances
The main event begins at 3 p.m. on March 28 with performances including the Namhae Orak Center, Batu Kata, and acoustic guitar acts.
The opening ceremony at 7:30 p.m. will feature Samdong Nanta, fusion Korean music by Hwang In-a, and a performance by Namhae’s ambassador, Ha Dong-geun.
The highlight will be an enhanced fireworks and drone light show, which will illuminate Namhae Bridge with a synchronized display of lights, music, and pyrotechnics.
Namhae Bridge will be completely closed from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. on March 28 for the fireworks and drone show. A drone landing pad will also be set up near Namhae Pavilion, and visitors are advised to exercise caution.
On March 29, cultural performances will continue from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., including a science magic show, a balloon magic show, a tightrope performance from ‘The King and the Clown’ cast, and live music by indie bands and acoustic artists.
At 1 p.m., visitors can participate in the ‘Healthy Hometown Road 2025 Namparang-gil Walk Together!’ event, where participants completing the scenic course will receive a special badge and scarf exclusive to this year’s festival.
First-Ever Namhae Bridge Climbing Experience
For the first time, visitors can experience Namhae Bridge Climbing, where participants, secured with personal safety gear, can traverse the 40-meter-high cableway of Korea’s first suspension bridge. This unique adventure will be available from March 28–29, with two sessions per day. Advance reservations are required, though on-site registration may be available.
Interactive and Family-Friendly Activities
Throughout the festival, visitors can enjoy hands-on experiences such as traditional costume dress-up, cotton candy making, pinwheel crafting, chalk playground activities, and face painting.
Additionally, various observatories, including the Namhae Bridge main tower observatory, deck road, welcome center, infinity observatory, and rainbow observatory, offer panoramic views of Namhae’s natural beauty.
To mark the 50th anniversary of Namhae Bridge, a Wall of Hope will be created, featuring messages of dreams and aspirations from visitors.
