Festival Shiwol kicks off big month of events in Busan

Festival Shiwol, a large-scale integrated event that showcases Busan’s richness and culture, gets underway today.
The event, which runs from October 1 to 8, will take place across various venues, with a central hub at BEXCO’s outdoor parking lot.
Festival Shiwol aims to create a new brand for Busan, blending large-scale exhibitions, conferences, and cultural events.
This year’s festival will feature 17 unique events, including the Busan International Film Festival, K-Music Season Good Night Concert, ASEAN-Korea Fashion Week, and the Busan International Rock Festival.
The festival will also introduce “October Village,” a networking space designed for participants and visitors, offering themed zones, international conferences, and cultural performances.
Special events include the Silence Music & Dance Festival, a silent disco party featuring personal headphones and live performances by artists like New Jeans.
With around 450,000 visitors expected, the city is coordinating safety, hygiene, accommodation, and traffic measures to ensure a smooth experience.
