Haeundae Campus Song Festival (Haeundae Campus Song Festival Organizing Committee)

The 2024 Haeundae Campus Song Festival will kick off at Haeundae Beach on Saturday, starting at 7 p.m.

This event, organized by the University Song Festival Organizing Committee and sponsored by Haeundae-gu, Busan City, Busan City Council, and BNK Busan Bank, marks the revival of the iconic University Song Festival and Riverside Song Festival from the 70s and 80s.

The festivities will begin at 3 p.m. with a pre-performance featuring participants singing past hits from the Riverside Song Festival and University Song Festivals, including classics like “To You,” “Damdadi,” and “Lying in the Sea.”

The main competition will begin at 7:20 p.m. and run for an hour and a half. It will be followed by a special performance from an invited singer at 8:50 p.m.

Out of the 12 teams that advance to the finals after the preliminaries, five will be awarded scholarships totaling 20 million won. The grand prize winner will receive 10 million won, while the gold prize winner will get 5 million won.

The silver and bronze prize winners will receive 3 million won and 1 million won respectively, along with trophies.

The Haeundae University Song Festival is set to become an annual summer event at Haeundae Beach.

The first organizing committee chairman of the University Song Festival Organizing Committee is singer Lee Sang-woo, who won the gold prize at the 9th Riverside Song Festival in 1988.
