Jinju City will host the 2024 Korea Nongak Festival on October 6th at 2 p.m. at a special stage set up in front of the Gyesasunuidan within Jinju Castle.

This festival, coinciding with the Jinju Namgang Yudeung Festival, aims to bring the dynamic energy of traditional Korean Nongak to life.

Celebrating its 18th anniversary, the event is organized by the Jinju Samcheonpo Nongak Preservation Society and will feature six renowned intangible cultural heritage groups from across the nation.

Performers include Jinju Samcheonpo Nongak, Wonju Maeji Nongak (Gangwon-do), Imsil Pilbong Nongak (Jeollabuk-do), Pyeongtaek Nongak (Gyeonggi-do), Gumi Mu-eul Nongak (Gyeongbuk), and Buan Nongak (Jeollabuk-do), showcasing the vibrant rhythms and spirit of Nongak.

Local groups from Jinju’s Jinseong-myeon and Ihyeon-dong will also participate, creating a unique experience for tourists and residents alike to enjoy and appreciate the rich heritage of Korean traditional music and dance.
