Busanjin-gu will launch the Seomyeon Light Festival, which will run from October 2, 2024, to January 10, 2025, in the Seomyeon 1st Street area.

Now in its fifth year, the festival will be grander than ever, illuminating the entire 1.8 km stretch of Seomyeon with a dazzling display of lights.

The event will kick off with a Parade of Light, beginning at 6:30 p.m. on October 2, featuring a special performance to mark the lighting ceremony.

The festival will be divided into five themed zones — Main Zone, Commercial District Recovery Zone, Imagination Yard Zone, Street Food Stall Zone, and Restoration Road Zone — each offering distinct attractions with colorful light sculptures and unique photo opportunities.

Highlights include an arch-shaped gate inspired by the Seomyeon Rotary Busan Tower, Baekyang Grandpa and Hocheonnyang-themed balloons, firecracker-shaped light structures, and retro-style bulb lighting.

In collaboration with the Busan Tourism Organization, the lighting ceremony will also feature the declaration of “Visit Busanjin-gu Month in October.”

To celebrate, the organization will launch an Accommodation Sale Festa, offering discounts on accommodations in Busanjin-gu through the Yanolja platform.

Local businesses will join the festival, making it a community event that promotes mutual growth.
