Ahead of the highly anticipated release of the Michelin Guide Seoul & Busan 2025 on February 27, Michelin has unveiled the latest additions to its prestigious ‘Bib Gourmand’ list.

This recognition is awarded to restaurants that provide exceptional cuisine at a reasonable price, set at 45,000 won or less per person.

With four new restaurants joining the ranks, the total number of Bib Gourmand restaurants in Busan has now increased to 19.

The newly selected establishments are Baekilpyeongnaeng, Bibijae, Jeongjitgan, and Hanwolgwan.

Last year, the first-ever Michelin Guide Busan 2024 featured 15 Bib Gourmand restaurants, and with these latest additions, the city’s culinary scene continues to gain recognition on the global stage.

Busan’s Latest Bib Gourmand Additions

Baekilpyeongnaeng (Namcheon-dong, Suyeong-gu): Specializing in Pyongyang-style cold noodles, this restaurant offers a delicate and subtly savory broth, alongside other traditional Korean dishes like bulgogi, seafood platters, and dumplings. Originally launched as a limited-time ‘100-day cold noodle restaurant’ in 2023, it officially opened in March 2024.

Bibijae (Namcheon-dong, Suyeong-gu): A bibimbap specialty restaurant known for its creative take on the classic dish. It allows diners to enjoy their bibimbap in a stone pot variation, adding depth and texture to the flavors. Michelin praises its innovative approach to enhancing the traditional bibimbap experience.

Jeongjitgan (Sinpyeong-dong, Saha-gu): Operating since 2011, this Busan-style pork soup restaurant allows customers to customize their orders by selecting ingredients such as different cuts of meat, side dishes, and blood sausage. Michelin highlights its clean, rich, and light-tasting broth, reminiscent of a well-prepared bone soup.

Hanwolgwan (Gwangan-dong, Suyeong-gu): Specializing in gomtang (beef bone soup), this restaurant offers variations featuring either clear meat broth or a richer bone broth. Diners can further personalize their bowls with options like yangji, chadol, and doenjang. Michelin commends Hanwolgwan for its ability to showcase diverse Korean beef flavors in a single bowl.

Michelin Guide Expands in Seoul and Busan

In addition to the new Busan selections, Michelin has also added 10 new Bib Gourmand restaurants in Seoul, bringing the city’s total to 58.

With 77 Bib Gourmand restaurants now spanning both Seoul and Busan, anticipation continues to build for the full unveiling of the Michelin Guide Seoul & Busan 2025 on February 27, when the list of starred and Michelin-selected restaurants will be announced.
