Seoul City is bringing the joys of the autumn harvest to the heart of the city with the “Yongsan Family Park Autumn Harvest Festival,” to be held from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday, October 26, at the first plaza (lawn plaza) of Yongsan Family Park.
This special event offers families and visitors a chance to enjoy a rich weekend filled with a variety of activities and learn about the significance of farming and harvesting in an urban environment.
The festival is open to everyone, including families with children, and will feature both on-site programs and pre-registration activities. Pre-registered participants can enjoy unique programs such as “Journey Through the Colors of Ochre,” a dyeing experience using natural ochre, “Straw Craft Workshop” to create items from straw, “Make Your Own Loofah,” and “Create Your Own Herb Pot” using herbs grown in eco-friendly urban gardens. Visitors without prior registration can join the “Time Travel Through Rice,” a hands-on rice threshing experience.
Additionally, the festival will offer a biodiversity program in collaboration with a youth climate group, where participants can observe and draw plants and insects in the park’s urban garden.
To add to the festive atmosphere, there will be a magic show and small music busking performances to entertain visitors of all ages.
Registration for the experience programs opens on October 16 at 2 p.m. through the Seoul Public Service Reservation website (yeyak.seoul.go.kr) and will continue until October 23.
Visitors can also find detailed information about the event on the “Seoul Parks” website.
