To ensure smooth travel during the Chuseok holiday, Seoul City has announced a set of special transportation measures, including extended subway and bus services on September 17 and 18.

These measures aim to accommodate the increased number of travelers returning home and visiting their families during the holiday.

Extended Subway and Bus Services for Late-Night Travelers

On September 17 and 18, subway lines 1 through 9, as well as the Ui-Sinseol and Sillim lines, will run until 2 a.m. to support late-night travel. Buses serving major terminals (Seoul Express Bus Terminal, Central City, Dong Seoul Terminal, and Nambu Terminal) and train stations (Seoul Station, Yongsan, Yeongdeungpo, Cheongnyangni, and Suseo) will also extend their services until 2 a.m.

The night owl buses, operating from 11:10 p.m. to 6 a.m., will run as usual to assist citizens with late-night transportation.

Increased Bus Services to Cemeteries and Extended Bus-Only Lane Hours

To accommodate those visiting city-run cemeteries like Yongmi-ri and Manguri, bus services to these areas will be increased on September 17 and 18, adding 50 more daily routes.

Additionally, the exclusive bus lanes on the Gyeongbu Expressway will extend their operating hours from the usual 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. to 7 a.m. to 1 a.m. the following day. This extended schedule will run from September 14 to 18 to help ensure quick and safe travel for long-distance bus passengers.

Crackdown on Illegal Parking and Taxi Violations

From September 13 and 18, Seoul City will intensify its crackdown on illegal parking near train stations and bus terminals, as well as unauthorized taxi operations, including fare refusals and overcharging. The goal is to minimize congestion and maintain order around major transportation hubs.

Access to Real-Time Traffic Information

Citizens can check real-time traffic updates, including extended subway and bus schedules, through the Seoul TOPIS website or the Seoul Traffic Portal app. For inquiries, the 120 Dasan Call Center will be available throughout the holiday.

These comprehensive measures aim to provide a safe and convenient transportation experience for all Seoul citizens during the Chuseok holiday.
